MARCH : One hell of a ride!

Yes March is finally ending and I can’t wait to share my fun experiences this month. It was a hectic and a very busy sched for me but those are blessings that I thank God everyday. These may be just small things to some but I really do consider them as BIG BLESSINGS <3

Here are some highlights:

So, my month started with an Alice in Wonderland themed pre-debut shoot with a very beautiful debutante, Kamille Plaza.

image

Had a meeting with Jerrick Macasocol (MCSCL) - a fashion shoot for his summer collection.

And on that same day, while buying things for other shoots and waiting for AJ, I stumbled upon some CRAZY friends!

Did a site visit for the party I’m planning this April. :)

Had a pre-debut shoot with Jamila Patalingjug.

… and for Gabrielle Dacua, her dreamland.

Shoot for Jerrick Macasocol (MCSCL) summer collection. I was very honored that I get to have worked with creative people such as designer, Jerrick Macasocol himself, Miss Ryle Young for the grooming and make up. Abert Catamco of B and B Modeling Management  and of course the rest of MCSCL’s team.

This will be featured in Sunstar next Friday guys so please do grab a copy!

VISIT  Jerrick Macasocol’s (MCSCL) page for his RTW summer collection!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FRESH GRADUATES! Did these photos for my friends. It’s their special request and did this for them as a gift. :)

Double debut event on a 23rd for Kamille Plaza  and Gabrielle Dacua . The teams were divided into two! I swear I wanted to be in both events but I just can’t divide myself into two. IF ONLY I CAN :’( but kudos to both teams though, you all did a very great job! cheers for us! hehe

HAHA I know right? aren’t we just fun to be with? hehe Snapoholic Cebu.

And last but definitely not the least, a pre-debut shoot for Miss Sheryl Recamadas. A shy yet very dreamy girl to shoot! Though we had a very little time and the weather is too humid (not cooperating), everything just fit in to the concept we visualized.

image

My month ended with an intimate dinner and chilling out with my oldest and bestest buds, Erven Cortes, Kleah Ynclino and John Ryan Butaya. Thanks guys! Had a wonderful time, that we didn’t even bother to get a group photo! Anyway, there are still a lot of next times!

And yes, schedules for April is UP! Plans Plans Plans for  Snapoholic Cebu’s First Anniversary. Hoping to make it bigger and better! Watch out for it! ;) We will be posting updates SOON!

While I still have a very long lits of TO DO’s to check, here’s something I just did yesterday. It’s a new Biz card design. 1 to do, CHECK!

So that’s what I have been up to. One of my friends told me to have a break sometimes and have fun. But what for? This is MY FUN and I am always happy.

Well, will be on a vacay for 2 days.. so yeah, til next time! SEE YOU! <3

Take risks and making it happen

Snapoholic Cebu’s first year anniversary is getting nearer and I got tons of plans for ending it’s first year, a gazillion of plans for the coming years (crossing fingers).

It will be all about being grateful for a very very wonderful year and giving back!

photo above is by Albert Joey Alojipan

PS: just wanted to post something here just because I have a new photo since like forever! haha March has been very very hectic (char) and April will be too! Will post bout them SOON! (hopefully soon!) haha

“Turn your CAN’ts to CANs and your DREAMS into PLANS”

Doubts and fears first went through my mind when I considered running a photography business. Will this CLICK? Am I doing the right thing? etc.

But then if I keep asking those questions and let those fears and doubts run my mind, I won’t be doing anything productive.

So I reformatted my mind and thought:

I’ll do this and that for it to click. I’ll do this and that to gain clients. I’ll do this and that to make this even bigger and become my bread and butter.

So I did. I did something and not just thinking about it’s downside. I remember when I was still in second year college, I kept on browsing through expensive lenses (even a 5k worth 50mm is very expensive for me already) but then when I started to save money and got motivated, one day, I managed to BUY ONE.

And now, it has been almost a year since I started Snapoholic Cebu. I am earning, LEARNING A LOT, somehow can provide for my fam, started Dreamcatchers Inc. (home decor and lifestyle - soon!), Accepted a event planning project, currently constructing a small and humble studio and shop, been very busy but most importantly so HAPPY! And I never fail to thank God everyday for these blessings! I swear to Him that I will take care of the blessings that He has given me.

Yes, I don’t work for someone. AND I AM STUBBORN LIKE THAT! hehehe :p

I am sharing this because I want to show you that nothing is impossible when you have the will and courage to do what you really want to do. I am sharing this because I myself got inspired by strong and brave young adults who ventured into business, even if it’s making notebooks, calligraphy, photography, fashion designing, styling etc. They are young, successful and HAPPY.

February : Happy Bee!

Yes Yes Yes I moved back home and I never felt any happier! Forgiving  people, forgetting, accepting and compromising.. loving.. striving hard to repay the hard works of my parents.

And oooh the LOVE MONTH!

First activity for the month was

And ACCEPTED AN EVENT PLANNING PROJECT!

I have been loving, uhh no, DYING to try and do some event planning and decor on sets!!! I have been into a lot of debut parties already because of my Snapoholic works and I always ask people about budgets and expenses. One thing I realized is that some of the design doesn’t give justice to the budget the client has given them.

For me, yes I don’t have any experiences with event planning but I know the expenses well especially expenses for set decors, materials and stuffs because I studied Interior Design for 4-5 years!

Well, I am just too excited for this new project! Quite hard for a first timer though since the debutante is a guy. OH YES! And the party will be manly and fun. Will post about is SOONEST! ;)

WISH ME LUCK!

8 Signs You’ve Found Your Life’s Work

Hello! I wanted to blog something not just today, but as much as possible, everyday. But the thing is I can’t just find something to blog about, well there are some subjects that I want to blog but aren’t ready yet. They end up in DRAFTS! :p

So this has been on my tab a very loooong time already. Then I thought to just reblog this for me to share it with you guys and also, to keep a note about it.

8 Signs You’ve Found Your Life’s Work

OCTOBER 16, 2012

Wondering if the job you have now is “the one”—or just another stop on the way to something more fulfilling? Check out this list to know whether it’s time to settle in or keep moving.

Awarding of Miss Photogenic (Miss UP Cebu 2013)

I’ve spent every day falling more madly in love with how I live my life and spend my time, the contributions I’m making to society, and the discomfort and growth that I feel each day.

My journey getting here was both arduous and enthralling. It was not at all straightforward. I had numerous experiences that collectively brought me here, teaching me what I’m capable of and showing me what does and does not resonate.

Though I’ve known for many years that my purpose is to unlock human potential, it took me some time to fully embrace my intuition, to figure out how to actualize this vision, and to build the courage to lean into my fears. (And it’s still, and always will be, an ongoing learning process.)

I’ve made the mistake of plunging headfirst into a business commitment that wasn’t fulfilling, spending more time trying to make it work than actually getting stuff done. I’ve felt red flags early on in a startup but waited nine months to listen to my intution. I’ve put off my own ideas to help others actualize their visions because it was less scary. Though I would relive my mistakes all over again in a second (and I believe making more mistakes helps you grow and gain confidence), I’d love to save you some time and energy along your journey.

Inspired by an article by MeiMei Fox about finding “the one” in love, and based on my own experiences and conversations with friends who are in love with how they work, live, and play, here are 8 signs you’ve found your life’s work:

1. It doesn’t feel like work.
Your life’s work is not a “job”—it’s a way of living. Your work enables you to create the lifestyle you want for yourself and your lifestyle includes your work. You frequently stop and think to yourself, “Wait, am I seriously working right now?” You can hardly distinguish between work, play, and life—as they are all intertwined. In everything you do, you are constantly pursuing your vision of optimal living.

2. You are aligned with your core values.
Your life’s work is an extension of your beliefs and worldview. You live in integrity because what you do is in accordance with who you are. This alignment will inspire you to move a small mountain if that’s what you have to do to realize your vision. Every day you work to manifest and actualize the world you imagine because by making it so, you’ll make the world more alive, beautiful and well.

3. You are willing to suffer.
Passion comes from the latin word ‘pati,’ which means ‘to suffer.’ Your life’s work is less about following a passion and more about your willingness to suffer along the way. The journey will be immensly challenging at times. You’ll be exposed to unexpected challenges and setbacks and you may endure hardship, rejection, and sacrifice. These roadblocks will motivate you. In fact, you see the short-term pain and discomfort as tremendous opportunities for learning, growth and depth; they’re critical to appreciating the beautiful and joyous moments.

4. You experience frequent flow.
You naturally and often fall “in flow,” deeply immersed by your work and the present moment. At 1:13 p.m. you realize five hours have gone by since you looked at the clock last. Or, you look up and realize it’s 12:21 a.m. and your instinct is to keep creating. Flow isn’t something you have to force; it just happens.

5. You make room for living.
Your work provides you the ability to live fully and enjoy life. Though you feel captivated and enthralled by your work, you make room for healthy routines like fitness, connection, spontaniety, and play. These activities re-energize and enable you to live a holistically fulfilling life.

6. Commitment is an honor.
When you discover your life’s work, the question of commitment is easy. There is no hestitation or analyzation as to whether or not the work is right for you. Your heart says yes. Your mind says yes. Your body says yes. Commitment to your work feels like breahting. You cannot imagine spending your time dedicated to any other purpose.

7. The people who matter notice.
“You look vibrant!” and “I’ve never seen you so healthy and happy!” and “This is without question what you’re meant to be doing!” are among the comments you may hear from the people closest to you when you’re on the right path. It’s important to note that these people who care for you deeply may also be the first to question and worry in the early stages. But, once you are thriving, they’ll notice and lovingly support your efforts.

8. You fall asleep exhausted, fulfilled, and ready for tomorrow.
You go to sleep each night grateful for the day. You know you’re on the right path, you gave the day your all, and you can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow. This is your life and you cannot imagine living it any other way.

I am a very huge dreamer! I wanted to have my own home and decor shop and a studio. And hopefully soon I will be able to achieve those. Little by little, one step at a time.

Hope I got you inspired as how I am always inspired by some people who always do follow their dreams and make a difference.

Have a great day!
